Young Nudy Drops New Single “That’s Not Gangsta,” Staying True to His Unique Trap Style

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

It’s cold as hell outside, so that means it’s Nudy season.

Describing Young Nudy to someone unfamiliar with him? Think of him as an acquired-taste trap rapper—his style might be peculiar at first, but once it clicks, you’ll realize he’s dropping some real talk over top-tier beats, often crafted by Pi’erre Bourne. Despite his offbeat flow, Nudy has built a loyal fanbase, with multiple tracks surpassing 100 million streams on Spotify. After delivering Sli’merre 2 last year, he’s back with a fresh new single, “That’s Not Gangsta.”

On “That’s Not Gangsta,” Young Nudy calls out those who secretly want to see him fail while making it clear he’s unbothered, rich, and living his best life. The track may have a confrontational theme, but the production sets a chill, laid-back tone, blending a sly melody with deep bass. Nudy’s delivery? Extra smooth. He mixes in a little melodic singing but primarily sticks to his signature low-key, relaxed flow, making it sound like he’s completely above the drama.

With “That’s Not Gangsta,” Nudy proves once again why he’s one of trap music’s most consistent and underrated voices.
