5. FXCK UP THE WORLD (Ft. Future)

“Fxck Up The World” goes SO hard, y’all. Lisa really be spitting sometimes. The lyrics hit like rapid-fire jabs, and the beat gives the track an absolutely raunchy energy.

Lyrically, the song captures the feeling of waking up and deciding to be a menace—simply because you know you can do anything you set your mind to. It’s about causing chaos, shaking things up, and wreaking havoc just by existing and thriving.

The track is messy, wild, and unapologetically bold. But beneath the madness, there’s something surprisingly inspiring about it.

4. Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)

“Moonlit Floor” samples the late ‘90s pop classic “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer, adding a softer, more nostalgic touch to the album’s sound.

The track tells the story of a breathtaking Parisian man the singer is falling for—despite knowing she shouldn’t. She wasn’t looking for love, but before she could stop herself, she was already deep in it.

LISA wistfully describes his green eyes, soft skin, and warm smile, reminiscing about memories and daydreaming of what could be. The song’s intimate, delicate feel stands in sharp contrast to the bolder, more chaotic energy of other tracks on the album.

3. Born Again (Ft. Raye and Doja Cat)

I’ve been singing this song since the day it was released.

I swear, “Born Again” has been stuck in my head since it dropped three weeks ago. The track’s funky, synth-heavy production and infectious pop beat make it impossible not to move to. It’s the kind of song that puts you in a trance—before you know it, you’re humming it while doing the most mundane tasks.

Featuring British artist Raye and rapper Doja Cat, this unexpected trio delivers undeniable chemistry. The song tells the playful story of a man who could have had the chance to go home with them, but he missed out simply because he never made a move.

Flirty and effortlessly fun, “Born Again” adds another layer of diversity to the album’s sound, proving just how well these artists can blend their styles.

2. When I’m With You (Ft. Tyla)

“When I’m With You” brings Tyla’s signature Afropop and R&B fusion to LISA’s album, blending her smooth, flowing vocals with LISA’s sharp rap delivery in a way that feels effortless.

Lyrically, the song explores the intoxicating pull of desire. From the very first line, Tyla confesses that being with this person makes her lose all sense of pride. It’s about falling hard and fast—despite any warnings from friends or family—capturing the raw emotions of lust, love, and belonging.

Sensual and captivating, “When I’m With You” is both hypnotic and thought-provoking. The duo’s chemistry makes this track one of the album’s standout moments.

1. Rapunzel (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion)

“Rapunzel” completely caught me off guard the first time I heard it—I expected something totally different based on the title. But as soon as the beat dropped, I realized I had seriously underestimated this track.

This song is all about being young, carefree, and unapologetically glamorous. LISA and Meg rap about letting their hair down, living in luxury, and embracing their beauty. By the second chorus, I was ugly screaming right along with them: “That’s money, THAT’S MOTHERF**IN MONEY!”*

Packed with fiery wordplay and ridiculously fun bars, “Rapunzel” channels early 2000s energy in the best way. Both LISA and Meg have this effortless ability to sound cool and composed while saying the wildest things, making every moment entertaining. It’s the kind of song you put on repeat and never get tired of.

RGM RATING

(79%)

I knew Alter Ego was highly anticipated, but I didn’t fully grasp the hype until I listened to it in its entirety. LISA proves just how multifaceted she is—her flow is sharp and exciting, her lyrics go crazy at times, and she effortlessly shifts between styles.

This album is a melting pot of pop, funk, hip-hop, grunge, and R&B influences. Each track brings something fresh to the table while keeping LISA’s signature energy intact. She delivers the fierceness and attitude I hoped for, with songs ranging from edgy and flirty to deeply emotional and raw.

With an impressive lineup of featured artists, clever samples, and a balance of high-energy bangers and slower, moodier tracks, Alter Ego has something for everyone. It exceeded my expectations, and I already know I’ll be coming back to several songs on repeat.
