Now, in 2025, she seems more motivated than ever, dropping two fresh singles, with “Free” standing out as an exceptional release.
The first thing that grabs attention in “Free” is its chill, smooth production, providing the perfect backdrop for introspection. Over the beat, Little Simz explores the meaning of love, touching on divine love, her passion for music, and the importance of commitment and support. Her delivery—marked by a numb, almost detached tone—makes her words feel even more authentic, reinforcing the idea that she, too, is navigating life like everyone else. All in all, “Free” is a deeply relatable track, showcasing Simz’s ability to blend vulnerability with thought-provoking lyricism.
