Kanye West’s Love-Hate Cycle Continues as He Suddenly Praises Playboi Carti

Kanye West said this in the midst of Carti’s “MUSIC” going gold.

I’ll be honest—it’s getting harder and harder to take anything Kanye West says seriously (I call it the 6ix9ine effect). At this point, it’s almost impossible to internalize his words. Over the past few months, Ye has been saying all kinds of wild things, and a lot of it feels like he’s just looking for attention. One of his main targets has been Playboi Carti, who Ye accused of disrespectfully reaching out to his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. Carti was also one of the few people bold enough to tell Ye to “STFU” online. After that, Ye fired off a series of tweets calling him disloyal and more. Today, things took a surprising turn.

Out of nowhere, Ye tweeted, “I love Carti.” Before anyone takes this as a real change in their rocky relationship, it’s important to remember that Ye has a habit of flipping his stance. He’s gone back and forth with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and others—praising them one moment and tearing them down the next.

Ye always seems to get forgiven by his industry peers, likely because of the deep respect they have for his past work. But at some point, people will have to decide where they stand with him. We’ve seen this cycle repeat itself too many times, especially with Kid Cudi, who once said he would never speak to Ye again—only for things to shift later. Hopefully, some of these artists will take a firm stance and stick with it.

Do you think Ye and Carti’s relationship will be repaired? Let us know in the comments section.
