Yella Beezy Gets Reflective on “My Head” Amid MO3 Controversy

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Yella Beezy’s team is a genius for dropping this track right now.

I won’t lie—I’ve been fully tapped into the MO3 and Yella Beezy situation. For those not familiar, here’s the quick rundown: after years of beef between the two Dallas rappers, MO3 was tragically shot and killed a couple of years ago. Since then, rumors have swirled linking Yella Beezy to the murder. Though nothing has been confirmed, and Beezy continues to proclaim his innocence, the situation remains heavy—not just for the families involved, but for the entire Dallas hip-hop scene.

Today, Yella Beezy returned with a new single titled “My Head,” and it’s one of his most introspective records to date.

Backed by a dramatic, piano-driven instrumental dripping in soul, Beezy leans into a melodic, slightly dramatic vocal delivery to explore themes of paranoia, self-reflection, and emotional fatigue. He opens up about people plotting against him, staying clear of trouble, and navigating the constant chaos in his mind.

While his voice might not be everyone’s favorite texture-wise, there’s no denying the urgency in his tone and the catchiness of the hook. The chorus in particular stands out—it’s emotionally charged, memorable, and gives the track real weight.
