After years of teasing, Spotify is officially delivering the high-fidelity audio fans have been demanding.

Spotify has officially announced they will be rolling out lossless audio streaming for Premium users, fulfilling a long-standing request from music lovers that dates back to 2017. The feature, previously known as “HiFi,” delivers 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC playback, giving listeners a richer, more detailed sound experience. Existing Premium subscribers won’t need to pay extra to enjoy the new quality, making it a major upgrade to the platform’s standard offerings.

The rollout covers more than 50 markets globally, including the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia, and Sweden, with more regions expected soon. Users can enable the feature through Settings ? Media Quality, choosing lossless playback for Wi-Fi, mobile, or downloads. Spotify notes that Bluetooth streaming is unsupported due to bandwidth limitations, so wired headphones or Wi-Fi via Spotify Connect are recommended. A “Lossless” badge appears in the Now Playing screen when the feature is active, ensuring listeners know they’re hearing the highest quality available.

This launch brings Spotify in line with competitors like Apple Music and Amazon Music, delivering a premium audio experience without additional fees. For audiophiles and casual listeners alike, it’s a long-awaited step forward, proving Spotify is prioritizing sound quality and catering to the growing demand for high-fidelity music streaming.
