Polo G Drops “Chinatown Pt. 2,” a Sequel to His THE GOAT Standout

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Polo G revisits one of his most memorable songs with “Chinatown Pt. 2,” blending tension-filled production with lyrics about loyalty and survival.

Polo G is back with “Chinatown Pt. 2,” a sequel to one of the standout tracks from THE GOAT. I have to admit, out of all the tracks from that album, I didn’t expect him to revisit this one, but it makes sense when you hear how heavy the sequel feels.

The production leans into a moody, almost cloudy vibe, carrying a subtle edge and low-end bass that keeps things tense. Over that backdrop, Polo G raps about staying prepared for conflict, valuing the people he grew up with, and keeping protection close at all times. The subject matter stays true to the original’s street-focused perspective while adding a sense of reflection.

What stands out most to me is the way he switches between sounding nearly broken and delivering aggressive bars that show he’s ready for whatever. That contrast creates a push-and-pull effect, making the track feel as though it inhabits two emotional worlds simultaneously.

“Chinatown Pt. 2” isn’t just a nostalgia play—it’s Polo G doubling down on the themes that defined his earlier work. He may never leave that side of his life alone.
