Juvenile Explores Country-Hop on New Single “One More Round”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Did Juvenile just prank us?

I’m going to say this boldly: without Juvenile, modern Southern music wouldn’t be what it is today. His revolutionary 400 Degreez album from 1998 still features sounds that artists are using today. That said, Juvenile is venturing into new territory with his latest single, “One More Round,” exploring a genre I like to call Country-Hop.

“One More Round” is the definition of gimmicky. In the track, Juvenile raps about partying with drinks and women all around, sounding like a rager with Jambalaya running through his veins. Featured guest 2’Live Bre delivers a catchy, though basic, chorus that doubles down on the idea of getting completely lit.

All of this takes place over a country-pop-hop beat that Flo Rida would probably put up a 40-point triple-double over.

I’m not fully sold on the track, but it’s all good. Let the old man have a little fun.
