After two successful chart appearances, ian’s new album “2005” failed to enter this week’s Billboard 200, selling just under 8,000 units in its first week.
The project, consisting of nine tracks, still made some streaming noise, pulling in over one million streams across songs like “Aw Shit,” “You Told Me,” and “I Ain’t Coming Back.”
Throughout 2005, ian experiments with his sound — maintaining his usual trap energy while introducing moments of vulnerability and melody. Tracks like “Soul Provider” stand out for their emotional tone, showing a softer, more reflective side of the rapper.
It’s a noticeable drop compared to his past performance. His previous album, Valedictorian, sold around 17,000 copies in its first week and debuted at No. 54 on the Billboard 200. Before that, Goodbye Horses opened with 13,000 first-week sales. Still, 2005 demonstrates ian’s willingness to explore and evolve creatively, even if commercial success didn’t follow this time.
Ian's '2005' fails to chart on this weeks Billboard 200, with less than 8K sold first-week.
