Lil Uzi Vert Returns to His Old Style on “Chanel Boy”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This is the old-school Lil Uzi Vert that pissed oldheads for years.

Lil Uzi Vert kicked off a very memorable Thanksgiving by dropping the not-so-highly anticipated single, “Chanel Boy.” Although the track isn’t yet available on streaming services, it landed on YouTube and X.

A Throwback Instrumental

“Chanel Boy” features a trippy, bass-heavy, synth-driven instrumental that feels like a throwback to 2015. S**t, I thought about dabbing to the song. The chaotic production provides the perfect canvas for Uzi’s rebellious and untamed delivery, instantly transporting listeners to the era that helped define his sound.

Classic Uzi Energy

Over the wild instrumental, Lil Uzi Vert brings back his rebellious, slightly whiny rap style. He flexes luxury, originality, and unstoppable confidence, proving that while others may try to imitate him, Uzi is still innovating and setting the pace. The track balances on the fine line between annoying and catchy, but it’s undeniably the Lil Uzi Vert that fans first fell in love with.

Final Thoughts

Can I be honest with you for a second? OK, here I go: Uzi has to come a lot harder than this to move the needle for me. I really hope this is just a warm-up for him.
