Will Max B end up in the hip-hop hall of fame? Probably not. But his impact has been undeniable. From his rapping style to his charisma, Max B has influenced countless artists and left a mark that’s been widely mimicked. Now, fresh out of jail, he is officially back with a new single called “No More Tricks,” and it sounds pretty damn solid.
In “No More Tricks,” Max B pays homage to the rappers who influenced him, cruises around in bulletproof Maybachs, and embodies the ultimate hustler mentality. He also calls out those who didn’t stay loyal when the system jammed them up. The track features smooth, old-school production with a touch of Dolemite flair, giving it a nostalgic edge. Max delivers his slightly muddled, carefree rap style over it, sounding like Jim Jones’s backup QB ready to take the lead.
