Rich The Kid Returns With Slick New Single “Counterfeit”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The Atlanta hitmaker doubles down on confidence, cash talk, and cosmic production on his latest drop.

Rich The Kid is back with a new single called “Counterfeit.” While a lot of people seemed to forget he dropped a pretty solid album last year — Life’s A Gamble, complete with Kanye West production — I definitely didn’t. And now he’s looking to keep that momentum rolling with this new release.

On “Counterfeit,” Rich The Kid flexes exactly how Rich The Kid flexes: loudly, relentlessly, and with zero apology. He talks about the spicy women in his orbit, staying turned up at all times, and spending money like he and Scrooge McDuck share a vault. The production has this slick, extraterrestrial vibe to it — cool, sly, and surprisingly chill. As for the rapping? Rich sounds exactly like he’s always sounded… and I mean literally the same tone, flow, and energy he’s been using for years.

Overall, the track does what it needs to do. It’s Rich The Kid doing Rich The Kid things. If you like his lane, this one’s an easy add to the playlist.
