I was a little surprised at how much I enjoyed this track…
Recently, while appearing on his podcast with Jadakiss, alongside Uncle Murda and Tony Yayo, Fat Joe told a wild story about nearly getting into a fight with Young Buck at a Chicago concert. In Joe’s version of events, he framed himself as the aggressor and Buck as the one who backed down, a retelling that immediately raised eyebrows across hip-hop circles.
Young Buck clearly wasn’t rocking with that narrative. Instead of jumping online to argue, the Memphis rapper responded the old-school way: with music. His new single, “CAPpuccino (Fat Joe Diss),” serves as a direct rebuttal to Joe’s story, with Buck making it clear he believes the whole thing was exaggerated, if not flat-out false.
Over the soulful, hard-hitting “Went Legit” instrumental by G Herbo, Buck takes measured but pointed shots, calling out what he sees as lies while also reminding listeners of where he’s at now mentally and financially. It’s more controlled than explosive, but the message lands.
More than anything, the track is a reminder of Young Buck’s presence. He still raps with conviction, grit, and confidence, commanding the mic like someone who never lost it. Honestly, hearing Buck sound this sharp again makes you want more.
