As 2025 comes to a close, Genius has unveiled its year-end lists highlighting the most searched songs, artists, producers, and albums — and the results perfectly capture what a historic year it’s been for music.
According to Genius, 2025’s most popular song was “Golden” by HUNTR/X, followed closely by Kendrick Lamar’s chart-dominating “Not Like Us” at #2. The songs list spans generations and genres, with classics like Radiohead’s “Creep” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” ranking alongside newer hits from Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift. The diversity alone speaks volumes about how unpredictable — and exciting — this year has been.
On the artists side, Taylor Swift led all musicians with 58 million Genius views, making her the most searched artist of 2025. She was followed by Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and Drake, while Sabrina Carpenter continued her massive breakout year, landing firmly in the top five. The KPop Demon Hunters Cast also made a notable appearance, showing how soundtrack-driven projects dominated fan interest this year.
Producers played a huge role as well, with Max Martin taking the top spot, followed by Taylor Swift, Shellback, and Jack Antonoff. Meanwhile, Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl claimed the #1 album spot, with KPop Demon Hunters, Bad Bunny, and Sabrina Carpenter rounding out the top tier.
Artists like Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter made clean sweeps across all four lists, while Kendrick Lamar and the KPop Demon Hunters Cast appeared multiple times as well. If this year proved anything, it’s that music in 2025 was boundary-pushing, genre-blending, and unforgettable — and hopefully, 2026 raises the bar even higher.
