Kodak ignores the calendar, fires at Boosie, and lets the beat freeze your walls

Kodak Black is officially back doing Kodak Black things, which includes ignoring calendars, stirring controversy, and dropping music whenever he feels like it.

His new track, “Christmas Eve,” arrived several days after the holiday, which honestly tracks. If there’s one thing Kodak and Donald Trump have in common, it’s a deep commitment to not following rules. Timing aside, the song wastes zero time reminding listeners that Kodak is still comfortable operating in chaos.

The standout here is easily the production. The beat carries an icy, winter-night feel that sounds cold enough to crack pipes, paired with bass heavy enough to rattle your housing foundation. It’s the kind of instrumental that demands attention before a single word is spoken. Kodak attacks it with multiple flows, one that’s sharp and calculated, slicing through the beat cleanly, and another that feels intentionally scattered, almost unhinged, like he’s daring you to keep up.

Lyrically, Kodak stays in familiar territory: stomping on competition, flexing expensive jewelry, and reminding everyone he still moves with power. That said, the most notable moment is his direct shot at Boosie, labeling him an “old man hater.” It’s a quick jab, but one loaded enough to cause fallout.

Sure enough, Boosie wasted no time responding, unloading a lengthy Instagram post that included calling Kodak a crackhead. And just like that, the first real rap feud of 2026 is underway. Buckle up.
