T.I. Returns to Form on “LET EM KNOW”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Over Pharrell’s hard-hitting production, T.I. channels classic confidence ahead of his upcoming “Kill The King” project.

I grew up on a version of T.I. who wasn’t just talking big; he was earning the title of “King.” Back then, TIP was one of the sharpest rappers in the game, commanding attention with confidence, charisma, and street-certified hits. Fast forward to today, and the public-facing version of T.I. has dreads, does comedy, and feels worlds away from that era. Life comes at you fast.

That’s why his latest release feels like such a moment.

Recently, T.I. cut his dreads and linked up with Pharrell for the new single “LET EM KNOW,” a track set to appear on his upcoming project Kill The King. From the jump, the record sounds intentional. Pharrell delivers hard-hitting, catchy production that’s built to hype you up. Interestingly, it doesn’t sound like some s**t he’s made before.

T.I. meets it perfectly. He slides in with a carefree hook, a head-bobbing flow, and a laidback but confident delivery. Lyrically, he sounds comfortable, competitive, and very aware of who he is, reminding listeners that he’s still living on his own terms and still capable of out-rapping the field when motivated. My only beef with the track? I wish the chorus hit a little harder.

I’m officially looking forward to TIP’s latest project. He needs it to hit badly.
