Drake Becomes First Rapper to Hit 1 Billion Spotify Streams in 2026

The Toronto superstar proves his catalog power by becoming the first rapper to reach 1 billion Spotify streams in 2026—without a new album.

Drake just opened 2026 by doing what Drake does best: lapping the field quietly, efficiently, and with ridiculous numbers. The Toronto superstar has become the first rapper to surpass 1 billion Spotify streams in 2026, reaching the milestone in just 20 days.

For anyone still questioning whether The Boy is a true heavyweight, this stat should put the debate to rest. Drake didn’t drop a solo album in 2025, and his long-teased ICEMAN project is still on ice, yet his catalog continues to move like it’s powered by momentum alone. No rollout. No gimmicks. Just streams stacking themselves.

A big part of the surge comes from the renewed life of “One Dance,” which has seen a major streaming resurgence to start the year. Already Drake’s most-streamed song ever, the 2016 smash has re-entered cultural circulation, along with a bunch of old photos of people we’re really not trying to see.

Beyond that, Drake’s catalog is simply built differently. Songs like “Passionfruit” and “God’s Plan” continue to rack up daily plays regardless of their age, context, or season (Just seeing these titles makes me want to hit the club again).

The scary part? This is all happening before ICEMAN even drops. If this is Drake operating on cruise control, the rest of the year could turn into a full-on victory lap.
