Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl moment sparks huge Billboard gains.
Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS is pacing for No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 225K units during Super Bowl week (via @HITSDD). This would mark its biggest sales week ever. It previously peaked at No. 1 for four weeks and sold 118K units in its first week.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti is aiming for a return to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 with 65K units this week (via @HITSDD). It previously peaked at No. 1 for 13 weeks.
As you may know by now, Bad Bunny performed at the Super Bowl this past Sunday, garnering the second-most viewers ever (Over 124 million), behind Kendrick Lamar’s performance last year (Over 133 million). The performance drew both praise and criticism: several prominent Republicans and right-leaning individuals expressed their distaste, while many others praised the vibes, visuals, and overall setup.
Whatever the case may be, the moment clearly propelled Bad Bunny’s numbers in terms of album sales, streaming figures, and more this week. While Super Bowl performances are known to boost artists’ numbers, Bad Bunny is also coming off a Grammy win for Album of the Year with DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. You know the saying “controversy sells”? Well, Bad Bunny just proved it.
