That Mexican OT blends animated flows with classic Texas production.
That Mexican OT continues to prove why he is one of the sharpest rappers in today’s game. His precision, animated delivery, and vivid storytelling make every verse feel alive.
I thoroughly enjoyed his last album, Recess, which highlighted his ability to balance humor, grit, and storytelling. Unfortunately, controversy surrounding comments he made at the time distracted some listeners from fully embracing the project.
Now, he is refocusing the spotlight on the music. After not releasing solo material since August 2025, That Mexican OT opens 2026 with “Need That,” the first single from his upcoming album Sophie’s Son. On the track, he lists the essentials he craves in life: women, money, and weed. What makes it compelling is not just the subject matter but the way he attacks it. His tongue-twisting flows and animated cadence keep the energy unpredictable.
The production leans into classic Texas vibes. Heavy organ keys and lively percussion create a Southern bounce that feels nostalgic yet fresh. With Sophie’s Son, named in honor of his late mother, That Mexican OT appears ready to deliver something personal while maintaining the charisma that defines his artistry.

Quincy is the creator of Ratings Game Music. He loves writing about music, taking long walks on beaches, and spaghetti that fights him back.
