NBA YoungBoy proves romance can hit harder than a bass drop in his latest single.
NBA YoungBoy has built a reputation for relentless output, and “Highly” reinforces his dedication to consistently delivering new music and visuals.
On the track, he reflects on his romantic relationship, sharing both struggles and tender moments with a passionate, slightly slurred, and sometimes erratic vocal delivery that makes his emotion palpable. As a matter of fact, this feels like the YN version of Destiny’s Child’s “Cater 2 U.”
The production complements his delivery perfectly, combining a straightforward trap instrumental with booming thumps, crisp hi-hats, and subtle bounce. His versatile flows give the track momentum and energy, making even the simplest instrumental feel dynamic and alive.
As someone who is a bit tired of hearing NBA YoungBoy’s grim reaper s**t, this track offers a nice little switch-up.
