T.I. Sounds Untouchable on “MR HIM”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Is T.I. sure he wants to retire? He’s been pretty solid lately.

T.I. is moving like somebody preparing for one final lap around the track. His upcoming album Kill The King’ is reportedly shaping up to be his last, and he has approached this rollout like a man determined to remind people exactly who he is before stepping away. He cut his hair, reignited tension with 50 Cent, and scored one of his bigger recent singles with “Let ’Em Know.”

Now, he is back with another release called “MR HIM.” Once again, the production comes from Pharrell Williams, who continues supplying T.I. with beats that sound polished enough to cruise through downtown Atlanta at midnight with tinted windows and absolutely zero stress.

T.I. sounds completely comfortable over the beat, rapping about his success, staying ahead of his opps, and owning one of the strongest catalogs in rap history. His demeanor never feels rushed or overly aggressive, either. Instead, he glides across the production with effortless confidence, sounding controlled enough to parallel park that bih.

T.I. raps like someone who knows retirement is a few months away. He sounds completely unbothered on this s**t.
