Dax Turns Betrayal Into a Cinematic Experience on “Caught You in the Bed”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

The music video to this track looks better than 90% of the movies on Tubi.

Dax has always had the technical ability to stand toe-to-toe with almost anyone rapping-wise. However, what has become especially interesting recently is his shift toward more genre-bending production that leans into country, blues, and melodic influences. That lane seems to be bringing out a different side of him creatively.

His latest single, “Caught You in the Bed,” continues that direction. The production immediately grabs attention with its bass-heavy knock, moody atmosphere, and fusion of bluesy textures alongside trap drums.

Vocally, Dax attacks the track with an animated melodic rap style, adding emotional weight to the song. At times, he sounds furious, while at other moments, he feels more hurt and reflective. The chorus especially stands out because of how catchy and easy it is to replay.

Still, the song’s biggest strength is its storytelling. “Caught You in the Bed” focuses on the brutal experience of catching someone cheating, particularly with someone close to you. The details throughout the track make the story feel vivid, messy as hell, and uncomfortable in the best possible way. Combined with Dax’s performance, the record becomes extremely hard to tune out once it starts.
