38 Spesh isn’t someone you want to beef with.
38 Spesh clearly woke up and decided he was ready for war. After finding himself involved in recent tension with Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and Jim Jones, the rapper officially entered battle mode with his new diss track, “Fool’s Mate.”
The song comes after 38 Spesh took issue with Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and DJ Khaled’s collaboration “The Aroma,” leading him to respond with a record aimed at some of hip-hop’s biggest personalities. “Fool’s Mate” is powered by a brass-heavy, triumphant instrumental that gives the song a classic feel, while the opening moments carry a darker energy that sets the tone for the attack.
Spesh spends most of the record targeting Jim Jones, taking shots at his relationship, his viral escalator fight, and his history of speaking on JAY-Z. He also briefly addresses Fat Joe and Jadakiss, questioning Joe’s image and suggesting Jadakiss’ podcast success has played a role in his current visibility.
At this point, Jadakiss feels like the person most equipped to respond on wax, but Fat Joe and Jim Jones could create plenty of noise outside the booth. This could get really good, guys.
