Skilla Baby Delivers a Melodic Detroit Anthem With “Show Me Love”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Respectfully, the artwork for Skilla Baby’s new project is outstanding (Yes, I understand he’s in a wheelchair).

Based on everything Skilla Baby has been through, combined with his decision to channel 2Pac on the artwork for his upcoming album, I have a feeling The Price Of Fame could be the project that takes his career to another level. I’m expecting plenty of bangers, but I also think we’re going to hear a much more vulnerable side of him. If the latest single, “Show Me Love,” is any indication, that’s exactly where he’s headed.

The production sets the tone perfectly. It carries an emotional weight while still knocking hard enough to satisfy fans of his who call bandos their home.

Skilla Baby does an excellent job of blending melodic vocals with raw, street-minded raps in a way that feels completely natural. His performance is catchy from start to finish, but there’s also enough emotion in his delivery to make everything feel realer than the MLB’s chances of a lockout this year. Lyrically, he reflects on receiving genuine love from the people around him while making it clear he wants to keep negativity and fake energy as far away as possible.

As someone who’s still getting familiar with Skilla Baby’s catalog, I can confidently say this s**t is hot.
