03 Greedo Reunites With Ty Dolla $ign for the Soulful “If I, Pt. 3”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Did they really record the music video to this track in an abandoned church?

I’ll be completely honest with you: New Music Friday is pretty light this week, so we had to dig into the trenches to find some music to cover. On the real, I think that’s a good thing because it gives us a chance to shine a light on artists who don’t always get the mainstream attention they deserve. One of those artists is 03 Greedo, who just dropped the third installment of his “If I” series, a song that was reportedly recorded nearly eight years ago.

“If I, Pt. 3” features heavenly production that could probably make the most demonic demon stop what they’re doing and confess their sins. At the same time, it carries those unmistakable smooth West Coast vibes that both 03 Greedo and Ty Dolla $ign have built their careers around.

Ty Dolla $ign delivers an outstanding performance, bringing his signature melodic touch to the record. 03 Greedo matches that energy with a passionate, almost desperate performance as they both sing about wanting the women in their lives to hold them down, especially if they end up doing time behind bars. The chemistry between the two feels natural, making it hard to believe this collaboration sat in the vault for so damn long.

The track is definitely a vibe. The music video, though? S**t’s a little spooky. They got floozies in churches… I’ve officially seen it all.
