A new Fugees album before Joel Embiid makes the conference finals would be wild.
A Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean comeback would be one of those moments where music fans immediately stop what they’re doing.
The two recently said fans can “absolutely” expect new music, and I can’t lie, that’s exciting considering what they created together. Lauryn Hill’s career is one of the biggest “what ifs” in music history. After The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and her unforgettable work with the Fugees, she had already proven she was one of the most gifted artists ever.
Unfortunately, label problems and industry struggles prevented her from building the massive catalog many expected. Wyclef Jean has taken a different path, staying active and consistently involved in music. I just started to cool off on him after he dropped that one track with The Rock (Just kidding, ‘Clef, I f**k with you).
The last Fugees album dropped in 1996, giving fans timeless records like “Killing Me Softly With His Song” and “Ready Or Not.” That chemistry was rare, and recreating it won’t be easy.
Still, maybe the goal isn’t to recreate the past. Maybe it’s just about letting two legends share their energy again. The world would welcome that.
