A cold hip-hop collaboration where sharp verses, infectious hooks, and slippery flows collide over sinister production.
Make bars great again! Bullet Brak and MikeyDubz certainly seem committed to the cause, joining forces for “Loose Change,” a tough collaboration that gives both rappers plenty of space to showcase what they do best.
The beat immediately caught my attention because it’s one of the coldest hip-hop instrumentals you’ll hear today. It has a spooky edge, but there’s also plenty of knock underneath, creating a backdrop built for rappers who want to flex their skills.
Bullet Brak delivers a chorus that perfectly balances catchy and gritty before sliding into a crafty verse. He flows effortlessly while sounding completely unbothered, dropping bars about his knack for shutting down the competition and being one of rap’s biggest strong-armers. Then MikeyDubz steps up with a phenomenal verse of his own, speaking on his love for the streets, his macking ways, and his competitive nature. His flow is ridiculously elusive.
Overall, I love the production, the hook, and what both artists bring to the record. “Loose Change” feels like a proper rap collaboration, with two confident MCs simply enjoying the opportunity to throw some serious bars around.
