Akanimo Shines With the Smooth and Relaxed “Sniper”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Akanimo blends smooth production, relaxed flows, and heartfelt lyrics into an easygoing track about strengthening a special connection.

“Sniper” is another example of why I enjoy the down-to-earth quality Akanimo brings to his music. The Charlotte rapper has an organic approach that makes his songs feel relatable, but he still knows how to give them enough knock to leave an impression.

The production immediately caught my attention because it carries this almost waterfall-like feel. Add in the nice knock and easygoing rhythm, and you have a beat that practically begs you to nod your head. Just don’t go chasing it (I had to sneak that TLC joke in there).

Akanimo uses “Sniper” to describe strengthening a connection with someone who’s definitely grabbed his heart. Vocally, he keeps things pretty chill while delivering a steady flow that rides the production well. The slight melodic moments sprinkled throughout also add extra flavor.

All in all, I really like how effortless everything feels here. “Sniper” is smooth, relaxed, and packed with feel-good vibes from start to finish.
