D’Nairo delivers a soulful rap anthem about ambition, cutting ties, and discovering who you can truly trust.
More hip-hop fans need some real rap in their life, and D’Nairo is an artist who brings exactly that to the forefront. I really rock with how fluffless his approach is. He sounds like someone who is comfortable following his own path instead of looking around to see what everybody else is doing. In “Good riddance,” he leans even further into that sound.
“Good riddance” rides on soulful production that still packs enough knock to keep the dope boys interested. D’Nairo gets straight to the point, speaking about his major plans, cutting off disloyal people, and realizing that he can ultimately only depend on himself.
The chorus and verses both feel raw, direct, and heartfelt. More importantly, you can hear that he actually believes every word he’s delivering. That personal connection gives the song an emotional weight you can’t fake. All in all, there’s nothing overly polished about the message, and that’s why folks will rock with it. D’Nairo simply gets in the booth and keeps it 100.
