5. Keep Flying

This feels like wanting a break from everything, just having some time to relax and do what you want. You had to go through the trenches to get to where you are, so you want to enjoy the good times when they come. You’ve been hurt in love and in life, and now you just need a release and some time to get out of your head.

There’s something really freeing about the track, like finally getting a chance to breathe after spending so long just trying to survive.

4. DontWaitForMe

I really liked the electronic, slightly more alternative pop sound of this track. Sonically, DontWaitForMe sounds so happy and bubbly, like the hopeful music played during movie credits. However, lyrically, it’s a bit darker than that.

Basically, Trippie is doing him. He’s been on his own, he’s going to be on his own, and he’s just going to keep doing his own thing. So, don’t wait up. I really like the contrast between the upbeat production and the more independent, almost lonely message.

3. Trillionaire Club

This song is about wanting someone and wanting to spoil them with the rich life. You could take them out on the town, out wherever, and you wouldn’t mind as long as they stuck around. You wanna know that they’re in it, but if they are, it’s all luxury from here. We’re living fast with no regrets, together.

It’s flashy and romantic in its own way, but there’s still that underlying desire to know that the other person is really there for you.

2. YouDontReallyLove

This song made me wanna move slow and dance on somebody. The percussion is infectious, and the R&B/hip-hop sound gives equal parts hype and yearning. Trippie sings on the track with passion and intimate emotion, and it feels like a plea.

He talks about wanting more, not just someone who claims to love you in bed but acts brand new everywhere else. Basically, don’t tell me you love me behind closed doors and then forget I exist once we step outside.

1. Emo Pop

 I was an emo kid through and through, I’ll admit it. Sonically, Emo Pop leans more into an alternative R&B feel, but lyrically, it does give me that grunge, emotional nostalgia. It has a different feel than the rest of the album and seems simpler and softer, but it works really well. This is a song you’ll pick up the lyrics to quickly and definitely find yourself singing randomly. Kinda addicting, tbh.

Imma keep it a buck with you: Trippie Redd’s first NDA album dropped a couple weeks ago, and it wasn’t my favorite. There were tracks I really messed with, while there were others I probably wouldn’t give a second chance. #NDA, or NDA 2, was a very different experience for me.

I liked this album so much more than the first one. To me, it feels more personal, more relatable, less cutthroat, and more fun. Sonically, it’s vibrant, still boasting a hip-hop core but painting in indie, alternative, pop, and R&B influences throughout the project. I feel like it shows a different range of Trippie and gives us different parts of him than the other album did.

NDA 2 isn’t as star-studded or relentless as the first album, but it didn’t need to be. This one feels genuine, lighter, and more emotional. There are songs on the tracklist that really stayed with me, and honestly, I think that’s what makes this one stand out. I went into this expecting to feel pretty much the same way I did about the first NDA, and instead I walked away with several songs I actually want to run back. I can’t wait to see this one blow up.
