“Choosin’ Texas” has extended the longest No. 1 run in Billboard Hot 100 history.

Ella Langley’s crossover smash remains atop the chart for a historic 24th week, adding another frame to a record that may become extremely difficult for future releases to challenge.

The song officially claimed the all-time record after reaching 23 weeks at No. 1. It surpassed Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which previously led the Hot 100 for 22 total weeks. Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” sit further behind with 19 weeks each.

Ella released “Choosin’ Texas” in October 2025. Since then, the track has dominated streaming platforms, radio, social media, and the Billboard Hot 100. Its success helped transform her from a rising country performer into one of the most recognizable new stars across music.

The record has also strengthened the performance of Dandelion, which ranks among the year’s biggest albums. However, even the album’s success may eventually become secondary to what its defining single has achieved.

Spending 24 weeks at No. 1 means “Choosin’ Texas” has controlled America’s leading songs chart for nearly half a year. That is an absurd level of consistency in an industry where attention shifts every few days.

Future artists now know the target. They only need a song capable of dominating streaming, sales, and radio for approximately six months.
