Taz Bentii might be Ottawa’s hardest rapper. His project, THE KID FROM OTTAWA, makes that case through old-school trap production, confidence, and the presence of DJ Holiday. Among its tracks, “REALEST” sounds prepared to tear through a crowded room.

The instrumental is mechanical trap music in its form. Its drums hit, its textures feel industrial, and its triumphant energy lands somewhere near “Swag Surfin.” Basically, this is the kind of s**t that could make an entire club shake when those speakers begin doing their job.

Taz answers with a rap performance that sounds laid-back but remains packed with action underneath. His twisting flow gives the track its personality, allowing him to attack pockets like a young Le’Veon Bell. Lyrically, Taz reminds everyone that he is open to stealing your women, makes guap, and is as authentic as it gets. In some ways, he plays anti-hero here.
