Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan have announced a new remix of Olivia’s song, and I certainly have high “expectations.”
This afternoon, Livies and members of the Pink Pony Club got very exciting news: Chappell Roan and Olivia Rodrigo are collaborating on a remix of “expectations,” the penultimate track on Olivia’s recent album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The song will be out on Thursday.
The pair have been friends since 2020, after their shared producer, Dan Nigro, introduced them. Chappell has opened for Olivia on tour and sung backing vocals on “lacy,” “obsessed,” “Can’t Catch Me Now,” and possibly “get him back!” After Chappell officially blew up, Olivia also had her as a guest on the tour for her album Guts, where the pair sang “HOT TO GO!”
This marks Olivia and Chappell’s first official studio collaboration, though. Needless to say, fans are excited. I absolutely love both Olivia and Chappell and have needed this for years. “expectations” is the perfect track for Chappell’s upbeat, empowering energy, and it’s one of my favorites on you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. I am going to eat this up.
