Tate McRae Serves as Her Own “Housewife” on New Single, and I Love It

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I just know that “Housewife” is never going to get out of my head.

Tate McRae has released her new single “Housewife,” and if this is the vibe of her next era, I am seated.

“Housewife” is about Tate wanting to make a lot of money so that she can provide for herself without having to rely on anyone else, while also pampering herself. She wants to “be [her] own housewife.” She’s singing to a man, but she says that she wants him but doesn’t need him. She says that’s the best feeling.

You can’t talk about a Tate McRae song that has a dance without talking about the dancing. She is such a fabulous dancer, and I love what she does in this music video. She’s so powerful and has such an impressive command of her body.

The melody is ridiculously catchy. I thought that Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan’s “expectations” would be in my head all evening, but after listening to this, I’m pretty sure that I’ll be humming “Housewife” while trying to get to sleep. I don’t know Tate’s discography very well, but from what I know, this is probably my favorite track of hers, and I have a feeling that it’s going to grow on me more with every listen.

The self-empowerment dance pop that’s going on here is awesome, and I’m looking forward to Tate’s next move.
