Megan Thee Stallion Brings Tina Snow Energy to “Thin Ice”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Megan Thee Stallion is heating up.

Megan Thee Stallion has been giving us new music every Tuesday, and I’m rocking with the consistency. More importantly, these releases feature a hungry, spicy Megan who sounds connected to her old Tina Snow self. Her latest Tina Tuesday Freestyle, “Thin Ice,” gives that energy another place to land.

Lyrically, she sticks with the bad-chick confidence you expect, reminding listeners that she can take their man and see through whatever games they’re playing. However, what caught my attention most was the production and her flows. Buddah Bless brings heavy bass and a next-galaxy trap sound that keeps the tension high. Megan responds with sharp switches and pockets that occasionally remind me of Drake and Tory Lanez, but her personality stays unmistakable throughout.

I think “Thin Ice” is unique for Megan, punchy, and another encouraging sign for MEGAN ACT III: HOUSE OF TINA. I wonder how she will put belt to folks next week.
