YT Suns is a two-man group from Kent, Washington that makes music that is stubbornly hip-hop, but also pretty cutting-edge, too. In “What If,” the duo does it all, gifting us with high-octane music that features sneaky good singing (Seriously, these dudes can harmonize and deliver a melody with the best of them), the trillest of instrumentals, carefree bars, vulnerable lyrical content, and vibes that are as hypnotizing as it gets. Whenever the Harlem rapper enters the booth, what you get is nothing but bossed-up bars, which typically leads to tracks that g’s all over can learn a thing or two from. Soso is one of those rappers that is trill, but also braggadocios. In “Hers,” his latest EP, the Los Angeles native blends both worlds together to create this three-track body-of-work that features a soulful banger (“Can’t Stand Me”), a club-ready banger (“Tell Me”), and a sly banger (“Fasho”).
