BTS Calls On Nicki Minaj For “IDOL” (Review & Stream)

I’m not sure Nicki Minaj is the queen of hip hop, but on the real, the pop rap crown is wide open!

I know I am late to the party here, but I hear BTS is a hugely popular South Korean band that released a top 10 billboard charting album titled Love Yourself: Tear earlier this year. Well it looks like they want to continue dominating the charts, because today, they decided to release a brand new record called “IDOL,” and it features everyone’s favorite big booty rapper in Nicki Minaj. As expected, the track has some heavy pop/EDM elements to it, but at the same time, the band was able to incorporate some hip hop feels here and there into their verses, rapping aggressively at times, and even incorporating auto-tune into their vocals. As for the Queen, she has the last verse, and she fits right in with the theme of the song (self-promotion and being an unstoppable force). Her verse is short and sweet, as she sorta finds a way to tame a pretty raucous instrumental.

Hey South Korean readers, ???? ? ???!
