With the influx of Neo-soul artists that have emerged in the past few years, Miles Prime manages to separate himself on “It’s Me, David Miles.” While keeping it brief and to the point, Miles Prime outlines what makes him so different. Unlike other musicians, he may not be a baller, have hoes or a girlfriend, but he does have a soul. He also has charming wordplay throughout the track, especially when he says, ” You can keep all the jewels, this heart made of gold.”
In my opinion, the message behind this song is beautiful! Your soul is the one thing that cannot be emulated by another, and Miles Prime knows that this is where his strength lies. His confidence in his abilities coupled with this tantalizing teaser that leaves the listener wanting more may just take him the distance.
Self-love is the theme here and we can surely stand behind that!
