OVERALL RATING (???)

Tee Grizzley keeps it 99+1 on “Payroll.”

2020 is destined to be Tee Grizzley’s year. Today, the Detroit rapper decided to release “Payroll” — the first single off of his upcoming album The Smartest.

“Payroll” is powered by this exhilarating beat by Hit-Boy that will give you the sweats. Over it, Grizzley raps unapologetically about dismissing scandalous hoes, wanting only real ones around him, and provoking ops. As usual, the 25-year-old MC spits his bars on the song with a level of urgency only Liam Neeson can reach.

Payroll Giovanni is featured on “Payroll” (How convenient). In his lone verse on the song, he talks about his rough come-up, his hustling ways, and his lack of respect for hoes. In my opinion, he definitely completes the song.

Tee Grizzley’s music gives me anxiety.
