Kristoffer Jon Makes An Intriguing Impression With “I Fucking Hate It When You Leave”

I FUCKING HATE IT WHEN YOU LEAVE

Kristoffer Jon

OVERALL RATING (????????)

🙁

Self-described “Swedish indie demon” Kristoffer Jon (aka Kristoffer Hilmarsson) is a musician, producer, and songwriter. Kristoffer performed all over his home country of Sweden as a solo artist before creating Line, his previous musical project. As an artist, Kristoffer is an intriguing artist that likes to experiment with a variety of sounds and lyrical switch-ups. His latest work, “I fucking hate it when you leave,” showcases a unique and memorable combination of vocals and alternative sounds.

The quirky vibes attached to “I fucking hate it when you leave” is consistent throughout. Kristoffer’s voice has a very lulling quality. The instrumentals are well-layered and definitely build nicely with Kristoffer’s vocals. The production style and lyrics reminded me of an art film in the sense that there’s an abstraction to the overall idea of what the artist wants the listener left with at the end of the journey. Anyone looking for something a bit off the walls with a splash of smooth vibes should give the track a shot.
