A laidback personal reflection that touches on Token’s highs and lows.

Boston-based rapper Token has risen up from his days as a viral sensation into an acclaimed industry artist. Following up his recently well-received freestyle “Hi J. Cole” is the reflective hip-hop single “Sip” and its accompanying music video. According to Token, his new release is “a drunk text to my ex that I never sent. It’s me toasting and celebrating what’s going on in my life, but just wishing she was here to celebrate with me.”

While Token is typically known for having an aggressive sound, his new track sees the rapper reflecting on his personal experiences with a much more laidback and mellowed-out style. The sound for his latest work stays in a softer soulful tone that feels well-matched to “Sip’s” vulnerable spirit. Don’t forget to check out the visuals and see Token bare his emotional side in the most literal way possible.
