Yo Gotti Proves That He’s The Realest In “For The Record”

For The Record

Yo Gotti

RGM RATING (??????)

The new DC United owner snaps on this track.

I have so much respect for Yo Gotti. To me, he’s one of the most progressive bosses the hip-hop game has ever seen. What I love about Gotti the most is that he likes to give the world knowledge on how to boss up in his music. In “For The Record,” his latest single, his knowledge comes in the form of unapologetic lyrics and gutter vibes.

“For The Record” isn’t the most enjoyable track (I feel like the beat is a little dull), but I do think that you can learn a thing or two from it. In his verses, Gotti raps about putting his homies in positions to succeed, overcoming trials and tribulations, fending off beef, hustling his ass off, owning s**t, and spending tons of money now that he has a lot of it. What I find interesting about the song is that it features lyrics that are laid out very explicitly.

I listen when Gotti speak (That’s saying a lot because I’m a rebel).
