Journey Of Choices (An Awakening Mind)
L.O.U. & Big O
Not many MCs rap as hard as L.O.U. does. Also, not many producers make better beats than Big O.
I grew up on 90s rap, so I probably appreciate hard-hitting bars and intricate hip-hop beats more than the next person. While I am fully aware that there are several artists that are able to channel an old-school sound in their music, there aren’t many that can channel it as authentically and pure as L.O.U. and Big O. The good news for us is that the two musicians tend to link up for projects all of the time. Their latest offering is the outstanding Journey Of Choices (An Awakening Mind).
Journey Of Choices (An Awakening Mind) is laced with twelve tracks. Though some would consider the project to be short, L.O.U. does an outstanding job of jampacking every single song with lyrics that require your full attention, flows that are intricate but very easy to digest, a level of passion that is hard to ignore, and most importantly, content that tackles everything from depression to growth to perseverance.
Please give Big O his flowers for the production job that he did on this project. Every single song on Journey Of Choices (An Awakening Mind) boasts a beat that is riveting, old-school-sounding, hard-hitting, sly, jazzy, soulful, and naturally powerful.
If you enjoy music that took some blood, sweat, tears, skills, and superior beat-making to make, you need to give Journey Of Choices (An Awakening Mind) a shot below. It’s easily one of the best albums I’ve heard this year.
There are a bunch of five-star tracks on this album: “Depression on the 18th,” “Consequences Of The Unforseen,” “Avenues Of The Aspects,” “The Preordained,” “Handle With Flair,” etc, etc.
I swear, L.O.U. raps like the rent is due.
