Chance The Rapper’s approach these days is this: No talking, kick-ass with bars. His last couple of singles has featured more bars than a cell phone on Elon Musk’s rogue spaceship. Today, as a surprise to his fans, Chance decided to release “The Highs & Lows,” a track in which him and Joey spit serious bars over an instrumental that will pick a fight with your soul.
Lowkey, the smooth-ass hook that Chance lays down on this song is my favorite thing about it. But let’s be real, the two MCs’ raps are what will make headlines. I mean, the way Chance blends a laidback tone with intimate lyrics, consistent flows, and amazing wordplay on his verse is amazing. It’s also amazing how Joey blends trill deliveries with deeply personal lyrics and just raw emotion. S**t, both of these amazing artists might be back forreal, guys.
