Rod Wave Earns 59 New RIAA Certifications, Adds More Major Milestones to Résumé

Rod Wave continues building an impressive commercial résumé while staying committed to his signature sound and independent-minded approach.

Rod Wave just added a ridiculous amount of hardware to his résumé. The rapper has earned 59 new RIAA certifications, surpassing Miley Cyrus, Adele, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Whitney Houston in total certified units (via Pop Tingz).

With this latest haul, Rod Wave is now the only rapper to release six consecutive platinum-certified albums since 2019. He has also become the most RIAA-certified rapper from Florida, surpassing Kodak Black and XXXTENTACION. That’s a pretty damn impressive accomplishment.

Several of Rod’s biggest albums received major upgrades, too. SoulFly, Pray 4 Love, and Nostalgia have all reached double platinum, while Last Lap is now platinum. On the singles side, “Richer” with Polo G has reached an incredible 6x platinum, while “Heart On Ice,” “Rags2Riches,” and “Fight The Feeling” have also earned new certifications.

I think it’s safe to say that Rod Wave is living out his dreams. Not only is he one of the highest-selling rappers in the game today, but he’s doing it completely his way. He keeps his features relatively limited, rarely chases trends, and hasn’t needed to rely on all the bulls**t artists sometimes have to resort to when trying to maintain relevance.

And now, with his latest album Don’t Look Down projected to land at No. 1 with more than 115,000 units, this certification haul feels like icing on the cake.

Rod Wave is really building an amazing résumé. More importantly, he’s doing it without sacrificing what made people love him in the first place.
