Stay
Emarosa
A revamped 80s pop hit.
Hailing from Lexington, Kentucky, Emarosa is a seasoned and accomplished rock band. Since being active in 2006, they’ve gone through a revolving line-up. The band is now currently headed by lead vocalist Bradley Walden and lead guitarist ER White. Throughout the years, they’ve played and experimented with different genres, ranging from the hard rock to alternative pop. They’ve ushered in a new era for 2022 that is all about the 80s, synth wave, and pop. Their work is available on Spotify, YouTube, and SoundCloud. Emarosa’s newest single, “Stay,” is filled with nostalgia. The song also has an accompanying music video.
“Stay” is a call back to the past while referencing the future. The band takes inspiration from 80s synth pop and incorporates it into the song. They also push into the future with modern components, such as the blending of polarizing genres to create a unique sound. “Stay” is all about taking a chance when it comes to love. Even if you’re not sure if your desire is strong enough, this band wants you to just do it! Lyrics like “I know that I shouldn’t stay/ But I’m gonna do it anyway/ ‘Cause I love you then I don’t, don’t know what I want” show how chaotic love can be. There’s great energy to the song that counters the passionate lyrics: it feels like they’re proving their own point, in a way. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t dance to it. While you’re contemplating your love life, you can easily break out in a groove. So, stream Emarosa’s “Stay” to remember what that burning love feels like.
