If Ab-Soul doesn’t release an album in 2022, I will ask Biden to sanction him. I feel like the world needs the TDE rapper’s honest, intelligent, and well-structured music. Today, Ab-Soul decided to release his whopping second single of the year, “Do Better” with Zacari.
The vulnerability, the touch, and the openness featured in “Do Better” make it a must-listen. In the song, Ab-Soul raps about the many ways he can improve as a human being, admitting to many of his flaws in the process. What I absolutely love about the song is how Ab raps aggressively over a beat that would’ve fit nicely on Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, maad city album (An album that he was inexplicably not on). At the end of the day, this song will touch your ears, heart, and soul.
