Needed That

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (Ft. PnB Rock)

R.I.P. to PnB Rock.

People are raving about A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s new Me vs. Myself album. The 22-track effort features what I think are a bunch of certified hip-hop/R&B hits. Surprisingly, the project doesn’t feature a lot of people. You can tell Boogie only wanted to work with artists that he truly f**ks with. Someone he did have a rapport with but didn’t end up on the initial release Me vs Myself is the late PnB Rock. A Boogie changed that by adding “Needed That” with PnB to the album.

“Needed That” definitely bolsters Me vs. Myself. The track, which references Jay-Z’s “Song Cry,” features a booming R&B beat, lyrics that emphasize how much payback can hurt someone, and very passionate vocal performances. The level of vulnerability shown by both A Boogie and PnB is actually commendable.

Give “Needed That” a couple of spins below.
