Young Dirty Bastard’s resemblance to his father is striking.
American rapper and hip-hop artist Bar-Sun Unique Jones is professionally known by his stage name Young Dirty Bastard. He was born on April 9, 1989, in the heart of New York City, Brooklyn.
Music is always in the bones and souls of Young Dirty Bastard’s family. He is the son of legendary Russell Tyrone Jones, famous by his stage name Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Ol’ Dirty Bastard was one of the founder members of the Staten Island, New York City-based rap group Wu-Tang Clan. Also, Young Darty Bastard is RZA’s nephew and GZA’s cousin, who are also solid musical influences.
2022 was the most successful year of Youn Dirty Bastard’s short music career. His most popular track, “BarSun,” got released on September 23, and it has already reached nearly 200k streams on Spotify. He appeared live on numerous programs, including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, 2013 Hot 97 Summer Jam, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Young Dirty Bastard is carrying on his father’s legacy. He recently finished a 25-city tour called “NY State of Mind” alongside Wu Tang-Clan, Nas, and Busta Rhymes. He also has planned NFT projects and various Brooklyn neighborhood acknowledgments and announcements.
His energetic “Its Given” and “Big Energy” remix performances with Latto and Mariah Carey at the 2022 BET Awards were followed successfully by the tour and single. The audience stood up when Young Dirty Bastard and Carey played their verses from the 1995 song “Fantasy,” a collaboration between Mariah and Ol’ Dirty Bastard.
Young Dirty Bastard is working on his first studio album, “Brooklyn’s My Blood Type,” which will be released in 2023. He is also working on a two-hour A&E documentary film about his father.
