We didn’t get to do full reviews for these albums, but we did get to listen to them!
Hit-Boy – Surf or Drown
Everyone knows that Hit-Boy is one of the best producers in the game today. But, did you know that he can rap his ass off, too? For those of you that aren’t familiar with the LA creative’s pen game, please give SURF OR DROWN a shot.
Hit-Boy keeps it extremely underground in SURF OR DROWN. Throughout the album, he goes toe to toe with artists like Dom Kennedy, Jay 305, Curren$y, Avelino, and Spank Nitti. With that being said, as expected, it’s the beats that will catch your attention. All of them are grade-A quality. Overall, this is a good listen.

03Greedo – Halfway There
03Greedo is fresh out of jail, hoe! Remember, he was facing a whopping 20 years just a few months ago. Now that he’s free, he’s decided to get back to one of the most important things in his life: Music.
This past Friday, 03Greedo decided to release his first album since being freed: Halfway There. In it, he sounds like his old self with a slight pep to his step. What I like about the whopping 33-track project, which boasts guest appearances from Maxo Kream, Babyface Ray, Ty Dolla $ign, and more, is that it features a good mix of emotional bangers, club bangers, street bangers, and more. As someone who is a casual 03 Greedo fan, I had no clue that he was this versatile.

Quando Rondo – Recovery
Under everyone’s nose, Quando Rondo dropped a new album called Recovery. As expected, you get a lot of ‘back against the wall’ music in the project. From start to finish, Quando talks about being glued to the streets, making it big, spending money, and getting revenge on his enemies. The album has some very intoxicating melodic raps. It also has some good southern struggle beats. All in all, if you are OK with putting your issues with Quando aside, I think you would enjoy this project.

Big O – Reflections of HE
Big O is back with a new short but sweet project called Reflections of HE. As expected, in it, you get nothing but pure hip-hop-based instrumentals. To be more specific, “Shipping (Out)” boasts a therapeutic sound with just enough oomph to keep you nodding your head, “With You” gives me uplifting and hard-hitting R&B vibes, “Worthwhile Journey” is a soothing gem, and “Crazy Feeling” has a great tempo and some house elements. All in all, I recommend that you put the trap music down for a few minutes to listen to this joint.
